At One World Hotel, every story begins with passion and few stories are as meaningful as that of Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant. Established by the late Tan Sri Dato' (Dr) Teo Soo Cheng, Founder of Bandar Utama City, Zuan Yuan is a heartfelt tribute to his lifelong love for Teo Chew cuisine - a cuisine celebrated for its lightness, refinement and devotion to natural flavours. It was this enduring connection to his roots that inspired him to establish a Teo Chew restaurant within One World Hotel.

For Tan Sri, food was never merely about taste. It was about heritage, memory and togetherness. His wish was to share the beauty of Teo Chew cooking with the wider community, preserving its traditions while creating a dining space where family and friends could gather over meals prepared with sincerity. Zuan Yuan was built on this very foundation, not just as a restaurant, but as a living expression of his values.

As the years passed, Zuan Yuan’s story evolved. As One World Hotel welcomed guests from around the globe, Zuan Yuan also embraced new flavours. While staying true to its Teo Chew roots, the menu gradually incorporated other beloved Chinese cuisines, from the boldness of Sichuan to the elegance of Cantonese, reflecting the diversity and richness of Malaysia’s dining culture. This thoughtful evolution ensures that Zuan Yuan remains both authentic and contemporary, carrying forward its heritage while meeting the tastes of today.

Today, Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant continues to be a culinary landmark of One World Hotel. Seating Capacity: 280 persons (Main Dining Hall) & 120 persons (Private Room)
