ONE WORLD ENDS THE YEAR WITH A BANG : HOTEL WINS TWO COVETED TITLES AT WORLD LUXURY HOTEL AWARDS 2014 & WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS 2014

One World Hotel caps a golden year by winning two prestigious awards at both World Luxury Hotel Awards 2014 and World Travel Awards 2014 on the 6th December and 7th December respectively.

The establishment has earned the ‘Luxury Hotel and Conference Centre for the Continent : Asia’  accolade at the recent World Luxury Hotel Awards 2014 held in Cape Town, South Africa on the 6th December 2014, marking an unprecedented second time in the last 3 years that One World has received this prestigious accolade.

The World Luxury Hotel Awards was established in 2006 and recognised as the world’s most prestigious awards exclusive to the luxury hotel industry. Over 1000 luxurious hotels, lodges, resorts & private islands from 145 countries were nominated to participate in over 50 different categories this year. The World Luxury Hotel Awards aim to encourage and enhanced service standards within the luxury hotel industry.

Voting was based on a country, continent and global basis and winners are determined by members of the travel industry and hotel guests who have personally experienced seamless and luxurious facilities and service excellence by these hotels. It is therefore a prestigious honour to be a recipient while providing a reliable and respected indication of standards to prospective guests when deciding where to stay on leisure and business trips.

On the 7th December 2014, One World Hotel made Malaysia proud by making history in the renowned global award. One World Hotel scooped the world title, ‘World’s Leading Meeting & Conference Hotel’ award at the recent 21st World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2014 in the northern Caribbean, a paradise island of Anguilla, beating out 20 other world-class hotels and resorts across the globe, namely Banyan Tree Bangkok, Marina Bay Sands Singapore, Jumeirah Emirates Towers Dubai UAE, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Las Vegas USA, Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo Brazil, JW Marriott Hotel Lima Peru, Intercontinental Melbourne The Rialto Australia and Radisson Royal Hotel Moscow Russia to name a few.

One World Hotel was represented by the Director of Sales, Tengku Badariah who received the prestigious award in an intimate chic award ceremony hosted by CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa and witnessed by 300 international hospitality industry leaders. Also known as the crème de la crème of the travel industry’, World Travel Awards was established in 1993 in London and are widely regarded as one of the premier accolades in the travel and tourism industry, where the industry elite including government and top industry leaders travelled from across the continents to celebrate world’s leading travel and tourism brands. The accolade is a tribute to acknowledge and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the travel and tourism industry.

The winners are selected based upon votes received from thousands of travel and tourism industry professionals and consumers in which the voting process is online and in a year-long campaign.
